Layered Leaves September 2017 Paper Pumpkin Kit Alternate Ideas

The September 2017 Paper Pumpkin kit was fun to play with! I hope you enjoy what I have to share with you today. I created all that I will be sharing today (and this coming Thursday!) with the contents of one kit and a few extra supplies/products which I have listed below and linked to my online store.

Origami Twist Fold Card

Ready for a fun-fold card idea that will knock your socks off?!

I was inspired by a card that fellow demonstrator, Kerstin Kries shared in a demonstrator-only Facebook group last month. She didn't post any measurements - just a few photos and a video clip of her opening and closing her card. I was determined to figure out how to make one myself right away! And I'm super excited to share it with all of you today!

I call it the "origami twist fold card." It may have another name. I guess this fold has been around for some time. One of my friends said she made her daughter's birthday invitations with this fold years ago. I'VE never seen it until recently, though. So I thought it COULD be new to some of you, too.

It was too hard to explain with just photos and words, so I recorded myself making it from start to finish in a Facebook Live video a couple days ago. Watch the video for tips and directions. Halloween Card - I used only a little bit each from 5 sheets of designer paper to make this one, so I ended up making a bunch of these Halloween cards for a swap I was in recently.

Measurements:

• Pumpkin Pie Cardstock: 8" x 8"
• Basic Black Cardstock: 1-7/8" x 1-7/8" (6 pieces - 4 left as squares & 2 cut in half diagonally)...scrap for punching out cat
• Very Vanilla Cardstock: scrap for stamping and punching words

Quilted Christmas Card - As I mention in my video, I presented these origami fold cards during a recent demonstrator team event. This last card (measuring 8x8 when open/4x4 when closed like the Halloween card) was our make-n-take. Susan Campfield, my upline came up with the design - it was her meeting and she wanted to provide the supplies. :) I'm so glad she used the Quilted Christmas suite. I just love the soft look!

August 2017 Paper Pumpkin Kit Alternate Ideas

How to Double the Cards in the Watercolor Christmas Kit

Here is another sneak peek at what is coming in the 2017 Holiday Catalog debuting on September 1, s017.

The Watercolor Christmas Card Kit for $20 USD makes 20 cards when supplemented by the coordinating stamp set, black ink and some adhesives. I'm loving this kit, because it makes attractive holiday cards fast and easy. The 4 designs the kit give instructions for making (you would make 5 of each) are shown below.

Aren't they pretty!? And there is absolutely no watercoloring skills involved in order to make any of these cards.

 

But I figured out a way to DOUBLE the cards by adding in just a couple extra supplies...Whisper White cardstock and envelopes!! I'm excited to share. Watch this video to get tips, measurements and ideas for splitting up the kit supplies from the 4 card varieties to make 8 variations and doubling the kit. So if you need to make 80 Christmas cards, you can get 2 kits instead of 4...and adding in the white cardstock and envelopes will still save you about $25. Gotta love saving money especially around the holidays!

With these layouts below and adding 15 sheets of Whisper White & 20 extra Whisper White envelopes, you can get 40 cards instead of just 20 from each kit (5 of each of these 8 designs).
