Valentine Treats for Classmates

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Thanks to a few past Paper Pumpkin kits (especially last month's), my boys are ready for celebrating Valentine's Day at school! Nicholas has his fruit snack treats all set to go. We used some green ink (mainly Cucumber Crush) and the Cucumber Crush Mini Striped Ribbon to coordinate with the packaging of these fruit snacks.

And Luke has his chocolate heart treats packaged up. Altogether...56 treats done! We used up leftover pieces from a few past kits, so not every treat is exactly the same in each set. But thankfully I had some extra supplies and tools on hand that created a bit of uniformity.

• The Sweetheart Punch with Whisper White cardstock made up for our lack of die-cut hearts from our Adoring Hearts kit.
• The 2x8 Cello Bags took over when we ran out of the small amount of cello bags that we had in our Filled With Love kit.
• The Triple Banner Punch with Whisper White cardstock worked when we ran out of the gold-lined banners in our Adoring Hearts kit.
• And the Triple Banner Punch with the few leftover pretty papers from our Filled With Love kit made up for the lack of Blushing Bride striped vellum banners from our Adoring Hearts kit.

And guess what!? We still have a few pieces left in all these kits to use on something else later! LOL

I have to say, I LOVED that the sequin trim from the Cute Conversations kit coordinated with the Watermelon Wonder ink from the Adoring Hearts kit AND the Reese's heart candies. (It sure makes me happy when I can find candy that matches my supplies!)

More Variations on Tuesday's Falling In Love Cards

A couple days ago I shared two cards featuring the new Falling in Love Designer Series Paper and the Bloomin' Love stamp set. Today I promised to share the non-Valentine versions. This time the cards are stamped with the Falling for You stamp set (wood-mount or clear-mount) from the 2017 Occasions catalog and/or the Avant Garden stamp set from the Sale-A-Bration brochure.

Take note that I used the same pieces and products for all five cards (the two I shared Tuesday and these three today) but just different images and different layouts.

These two cards have pretty much the same layout, but I tied the Very Vanilla 1/4" Satin Ribbon in a slightly different way.

Here are the details for these cards...

Measurements:

• Crumb Cake Cardstock: 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" folded in half for card base
• Soft Suede Cardstock: 4-3/4" x 1-3/4" and 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" scrap
• Falling In Love Designer Paper: 4-1/2" x 1-1/2"
• Very Vanilla Cardstock: 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" scrap
• Very Vanilla 1/4" Satin Ribbon: ~10"

Tips/Directions:

• Attach designer paper to 4-3/4" x 1-3/4" Soft Suede piece.
• Tie on the ribbon.
• Die-cut the 2-1/4" scalloped circle from the Soft Suede scrap piece. Do not attach to the card yet, but use this piece and the rectangular designer paper piece to guide where you stamp.
• Stamp the floral accent images* where you want them and then attach the rectangular piece to the card front.
• Stamp a sentiment on the Very Vanilla scrap. Punch it out with the 2" Circle Punch. Attach it to the scalloped circle piece and add this to the card front using Dimensionals.
• Stamp the inside of the card.

*To get the "lighter brown" ink, stamp the inked flower stamp image first on scrap paper and then on the cardstock without reinking.

I designed these cards for my Stamp-A-Stack event that runs this week Wednesday through Saturday. For this event participants get to make 4 sets of cards - 3 of each set...so 12 cards total. They choose how they want their cards to look for each set. I just give a variety of ideas which is why I had 5 different versions of this one. I shared here on my blog another Stamp-A-Stack set of cards on January 26th. I may have overwhelmed a few class participants by having 6 versions of that card, but I couldn't stop creating once I got going (a flaw of mine?). ;)

Bloomin' Love Meets Falling In Love

It makes me sad when designer papers retire. And the Falling in Love paper pack from the 2017 Occasions catalog is one that I will miss when it is gone in June. Look at me! Oh my gosh, I am already saying goodbye to it, and it is still available for over 3-1/2 more months. Hahaha! It definitely is one of my all-time favorites.

I designed this card for my upcoming Stamp-A-Stack event that runs this week Wednesday through Saturday. I used the Bloomin' Love stamp set from the 2016-17 Annual Catalog AND the Very Vanilla 1/4" Satin Ribbon and Falling in Love Designer Series Paper from the 2017 Occasions catalog.

Measurements:

• Crumb Cake Cardstock: 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" folded in half for card base
• Soft Suede Cardstock: 4-3/4" x 1-3/4" and 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" scrap
• Falling In Love Designer Paper: 4-1/2" x 1-1/2"
• Very Vanilla Cardstock: 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" scrap
• Very Vanilla 1/4" Satin Ribbon: ~10"

Tips/Directions:

• Attach designer paper to 4-3/4" x 1-3/4" Soft Suede piece. Then attach this to the bottom area on the front of the card.
• Die-cut the 2-1/4" scalloped circle from the Soft Suede scrap piece. Do not attach to the card yet, but use it to guide where you stamp.
• Stamp the floral accent image so that it is above the rectangular piece and will appear on the left and right of the scalloped circle piece.
• Stamp "My Valentine" on the Very Vanilla scrap. Then punch it out with the 2" Circle Punch. Attach to the scalloped circle piece and add to the card front with Dimensionals.
• Tie a bow in the ribbon and attach with a Glue Dot.
• Stamp the inside of the card as shown below.

Here is another version of this Valentine card. I used the same pieces and products but just different images (and put them together in a different layout).

Valentine's Day is just a week away. At this point I would recommend expedited shipping if you don't have these products yet, want to order them AND want to get them in time. (Or you could get the products and save them for next year.)

A Few Valentine's Day Ideas

We have a suite of products in the 2017 Occasions Catalog that is selling like hotcakes lately: Sending Love. It makes sense with the time of year we are in. All of a sudden Valentine's Day upon us. We are gathering up ideas for what to make and purchasing treats that that my boys will be bringing to school for their classmates and teachers. (And I've got many treat bags ready already thanks to the January Paper Pumpkin kit.)

Today I'd love to share with you some ideas with products from the Sending Love suite.

• one of my recent swap cards
• a version of a swap card I received
• and a box I built using some of the product in this Sending Love Suite and the Window Box Thinlits

This simple & sweet card was made by Kay Kalthoff. She embossed the background Real Red layer with the Happy Heart embossing folder and layered the center with the help of the Stitched Shapes Framelits dies. Don't you love the pearl accenting along the bottom?!

I put together this card below after making a similar card created by Vicki Bibeau. I loved her elements and just put them into a different arrangement. If getting both the Sealed With Love stamp set and the coordinating Love Notes framelits, it may be best to purchase them together in the Sealed With Love bundle and save 10%. (Notice the circular Stitched Shapes Framelits dies layer? I love those dies!)

And I can't get enough of that Sending Love Designer Paper! I used it again in this last project along with a Sending Love wooden embellishement, some Burlap Ribbon, and the new Lace Doilies.

I built this hexagonal box this past week when I presented and demonstrated the Window Shopping bundle during an event called Demos Galore. I found inspiration for this project when I saw some REALLY awesome ones that Kirsteen Gill had shared. (She is so talented!)

Adorning Arrows Pages, Card and Treat Bag
